Thomas Schubert studied Biology in Regensburg, Germany and specialized in biochemistry. He did his PhD thesis in the department of Biochemistry III at the University of Regensburg with Prof. Gernot Längst. His research focused on the use of MST technology to detect and quantify molecular interactions in the field of epigenetic regulation. He joined the company 2bind as an application specialist and in 2013 Dr. Schubert was nominated as the CEO of 2bind.
Scientific advisory board:
Prof. Dr. Gernot Längst
Gernot Längst studied Biology in Darmstadt and did his PhD at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. After his postdoctoral research at the EMBL in Heidelberg, Prof. Längst became a group leader at the Adolf Butenandt Institute of the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. In the year 2006 he was appointed as Professor of Biochemistry and Preclinical Medicine at the University of Regensburg. His research focuses on the regulation of gene expression in the context of chromatin, focusing on chromatin remodeling and epigenetic mechanisms. The laboratory of Prof. Längst was one of the first to use Microscale Thermophoresis technology to study the role of molecular interactions in epigenetic regulation. End 2011 he and two co-founders started up the service provider 2bind to enable researchers and industrial partners to profit from his longstanding experience in studying molecular interactions.
